THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY AND THE PRESS

The Cayman Ministers’ Association registers its deep concern over the events taking place in December 2010 that could affect the quality and objectivity of the information to be made public about the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly.

The CMA believes that the form of society aspired to by the Cayman Islands requires the Press and the Legislative Assembly to carry out their respective roles faithfully and to exercise forbearance and understanding of the legitimate needs and duties of one another. If they fail in this matter it will be to the detriment of the whole community.
